2012 Year of the Water Dragon Update

Whilst recently taking a break on the lovely Sunshine Coast in Queensland, I finally found myself with time to reflect on yet another very busy and fulfilling year. As most of my friends, colleagues and clients know I spent the previous 3 years living in Singapore and studying at the Singapore Feng Shui Centre under the wise guidance of Grand Master Vincent Koh.

GM Koh and GM Lo

Singapore was certainly very good to me during this time and in 2010 I was invited by the Executive Committee of the International Feng Shui Association (IFSA) to establish their Australian Chapter www.intfsa.org.au. As President of this Chapter I am very proud of the work we have since been doing within the local industry and in 2011 we launched our on line magazine Feng Shui Today. This modest publication has exceeded our expectations and is now read worldwide by practitioners and enthusiasts alike. In my role as Editor I am truly gratified by this response and pleased that it is able to provide such a valuable and contemporary resource.

In November 2011 I was honored with the title of Accredited Feng Shui Master (AFSM) by the Executive Committee of the International Feng Shui Association. My humble thanks to Grand Master Yap Cheng Hai, Grand Master Tan Khoon Yong and in particular Grand Master Raymond Lo and Grand Master Vincent Koh for all the wisdom, teaching, guidance, support and generosity they have shown me during the past decade I have spent on the formal study and practice of Feng Shui. With the right knowledge I have been able to turn what I love into what I do and this is indeed a rare gift that I am thankful for every day.

Now that I am back in Australia I have been kept very busy with my Feng Shui consultancy business and also with my duties as President of the IFSA Australia Chapter. In January we hosted our annual Chinese New Year Lunches in Sydney and Melbourne and in May we ran our second Feng Shui Convention whichproudly featured both national and international speakers.

World renowned author and researcher, Master Stephen Skinner delivered the keynote address for our Convention on The Unity of Feng Shui Methods and then graciously taught a 2 day Workshop on The Secrets of the Outer Rings of the Lo’pan, which I was most fortunate to attend.

GM loGrand Master Raymond Lo then came to Melbourne in June to teach his Practitioner Training Course on IV Pillars of Destiny & I Ching and also hosted an evening for the IFSA Australia Chapter where he spoke on IV Pillars & Career.

In August I was privileged to attend a 2 day Workshop on Understanding Fire with Melynda Munro and anyone who has attended previous IFSA Australia Chapter Conventions will know that she is an extraordinary lady whose energy always serves to inspire and nurture me.

Over the weekend of the 17th & 18th of November, the International Feng Shui Association (IFSA) once again ran its annual Feng Shui Convention. Entitled Ancient Art- Modern Practice, this event was held at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts in Singapore and was an event which I always find to be both personally and professionally rewarding. A complete write up of the Convention and all the speaker’s presentations will be available soon in Feng Shui Today.

The IFSA Australia Chapter will also be running their annual Chinese New Year/World Feng Shui Day Luncheons in both Sydney and Melbourne on SundayFire Workshop the 3rd of February 2013. If you would like to know more about preparing your home and yourself to make the most of the opportunities and challenges that lay ahead, then come along and enjoy a delicious lunch whilst our expert speakers advise you about the prospects and obstacles that the Year of the Snake will bring and what you can do to improve your future and that of your loved ones.

Tickets are now on sale via our website www.intfsa.org.au and prices include speakers, lunch and for our Melbourne guests a complimentary viewing of the 5-level Chinese Museum exhibition space. This represents great value so why not put together a table of your family, friends and colleagues and we’ll look forward to seeing you there!

In the meantime please stay tuned for my next Blog as I will endeavor once again to inform and update you on all things Feng Shui!
